Minneapolis’ first outdoor opera begins its run at 8 p.m. this evening in the Mill City Museum courtyard. The Mill City Summer Opera was created with the intention of bringing opera to new audiences with low-cost tickets and a casual outdoor setting. All five performances of Mill City Summer Opera’s production of “Pagliacci” are sold out, but a limited number of rush tickets will be available before each show.
Performances are scheduled for July 12, 14, 15, 18 and 20.
The Mill City Summer Opera has signed a three-year deal for the courtyard space at the Mill City Museum and may add additional performances in future seasons.
