Devil’s Advocate, the new bar/restaurant at 89 10th St. S., is getting into the special dinner service game. Its first such event will be held this Wednesday: a beer dinner pairing items from Devil’s Advocate’s menus with standard and limited-run beers from Brooklyn Brewery.
The four-course meal starts at 6 p.m. on Wednesday and costs $40 per person, limited to 30 seats. The first hour is a reception, during which Brooklyn Brewery’s Summer Ale will be served. At 7 p.m., the first course will be served, a Salty Cod Ball with Fried Caper Remoulade, which will be paired with an unannounced limited beer. The second course pairs Beer-Soused Shrimp and Clams with Brooklyn’s Sorachi Ace. Next, Beer-Braised Chicken and Heirloom Tomatoes will be paired with Brooklyn Lager. Finally, the desert course will pair Chocolate Balls or Fried Pies with Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout.
